Now in it's fourth year, the WA Web Awards is back - bigger and better than ever!

Again, we will showcase the best of the best: the most creative, the most innovative, the best looking and best functioning web sites created and launched in the 2007/2008 financial year. Entries are now closed and judging is underway.

This year the Awards presentation dinner will be held on the second day of the inaugural Edge of the Web Conference in early November. Sign up to the newsletter list to make sure you get all the information as soon as it is released.

History: Web Awards 2007

Lessons learned in the 2006 Awards cycle led to big changes in the management process for 2007. The organising committee was stripped back to just three members: Myles Eftos (Chairperson), Helen Burgess (Judging Assistant) and Kay Smoljak. Professional event management was brought on board in the form of Rebecca Taplin from Red Horizon Events.

The different approach paid off: The 2007 WA Web Awards were the biggest and best yet. Entry numbers increased yet again, and Judging Chairperson Megyn Carpenter had her work cut out for her, even with the capable help of Judging Assistant Helen Burgess. Industry experts Jason Beaird, James Bull, Tim Lucas, Donna Maurer, Duncan Riley, Maxine Sherrin and Matt Voerman judged the entrants.

The Awards dinner was held at the Duxton Hotel on the 17th of August 2007. MC Gerry Gannon once again kept the crowd laughing as winners were handed their glass WAWAs during a three course dinner. Drinks flowed freely and a fantastic time was had by all!
